One of my most memorable activities from the science class in elementary school was to examine things under a microscope. I was so fascinated by it during the class, that I borrowed my friend's microscope for weeks, so I could be free to explore the world with a microscope while alone at home( and many interesting objects were forbidden in the class-- earwax, " nose liquid", pee, etc.).
Years passed, and I still find microscopic details extremely fascinating and mystical. For me, many, many objects, when magnified by a microscope, very much resemble modern art.
