HIT (The Art of Hitting). A feminist project by director Greta Granderath. In this project I will be specifically explore the greek poet Sappho and Xenakis' monumental work Psappha.
About the project:
"From rock and pop to jazz and classical or orchestral music, drums are the instrument least likely to feature women*. HIT takes this as the impetus for a concert performance that plays with punching and softness, skills and sloppiness. A rhythmic pattern, axe blow, impact, outcry, pillow fight, carpet beating, knife hacking, the beating of a drum – and the silence afterwards. Hamburg based theatre maker Greta Granderath develops three compositions with percussionist Ying-Hsueh Chen, drummer Carrie McILwain and performer Juliana Oliveira in the imposing boiler hall of Kraftwerk Bille."

About the opera:
GULD!
