I am not an ambitious pianist, even though I love playing the piano. I haven't got any degree either, and I don't practice often anymore. Even though I have a very good foundation, good sight-reading skills, and quite some classical repertoire, I had never given any full classical recitals, not even once. I don't think the world needs me as a classical pianist.
Yet playing piano is like a personal meditation for me. I re-visit the memories of childhood very vividly while listening and playing the piano. I also enjoy accompanying musicians once a while too. While I was in Idyllwild Arts Academy in Califorrnia ( 1999-2002), I accompanied their fantastic musical theater for 3 years and learned lots of American broadway music. I just really enjoyed being a " background" pianist than being a soloist.
Not long after I moved to the Big Apple in 2002, I dropped the piano.
For some reasons in 2013 I was led by some mysterious force to pick up piano again ... and this time I did something very different...
