Yesterday I did a small surgery of my website. Now the older posts of " What's Up" will go to " What's Down (archives/past events) ". Let's see if this works.
Other than that, I have been working on the practical details of my upcoming project " So New So Old, So Far So Near". I am also starting to compose for a clarinet-percussion
duo piece for my clarinetist friend Marie Bessesen, I will write more when the deadline gets closer.
I am learning more and more about the truth that, administration is just as holy as practicing and performing. Imagine how much administration work to make one single orchestra concert to happen- the booking of the concert hall, the estimation of the budget, the fundraising, the PR and all the printing materials, the moving of the instruments, etc.
I have very much respect and gratitude for the people who sit in front of computers hours and hours to put an event together. Administration work is an art itself...it is like doing a puzzle work...one must be very vigilant not to lose patience, hope, and calmness, when things get a little stuck.
I will be both producer and performer of my project in the summer and I am learning a great deal.
