Premiere of "Katten og Tønden", a new children's concert about histories of cats and Danish "fastlavns" tradition. Project by Jonas Frølund. Composed by Birgitte Alsted.

May 9, the release of Mirage: An Architectural Sonic Experience.
“Mirage” is a radical meditation on sound, space, time, and materiality. It seeks to awaken our archaic, collective memory—our deep-seated connection to architecture and a playful relationship with sound and space, which has been lost due to modernization.
I deliberately recorded in architectural settings with long, immersive echoes—the Thorvaldsen Museum, the Brønshøj Water Tower, and the Grundtvig’s Church—transforming these landmarks into instruments. Acting as a “sound medium,” I allowed their natural acoustics to dictate the compositions. Rather than imposing predetermined music on these settings, their long, immersive echoes and reverberations formed the foundation of each piece.
You can purchase the limited edition of the CDs in my Bandcamp or via ILK. The film version will be released later on this year.

“Mirage”is a radical meditation on sound, light, space, and material, where I became a “sound medium,” channeling the unique acoustic voices of three iconic Danish landmarks: the solemn Grundtvig’s Church, the stark Brønshøj Water Tower, and the lushly colorful Thorvaldsens Museum, all of them have long yet different quality of echos.
The film is directed and edited by Danish artist Rikke Benborg, who visually and sonically reimagines my improvisation and recomposes the material into a gesamtkunstwerk. Jacob Kirkegaard recorded and designed the acoustics to bring out the character of each room, while Christian Houge Laursen’s cinematography and lighting reveal the architecture’s intrinsic beauty.
This film took me almost 3 years to realise, and it is a dream come true! I hope to share a cinematic deep-listening experience with many of you!
